Having run the African Hunting Gazette for decades, our #1 mission at African Hunting Gazette, is promoting hunting in Africa.

Africa needs and deserves more international hunters to play their role in the continent’s conservation objectives. Whatever we can do, from growing the awareness and publicity, to saving you money, so you can hunt more, we will do it.

If you know anything about who I am, how committed I am to promote this industry, you will understand how serious we are about helping you

After 5 years of running a trophy shipping only business, and seeing first-hand the challenges there, I took the leap a whole heap further and started TTS (Taxidermy and Trophy Solution).
And A-Z, one point of contact service, having your back in Africa, making sure your trophies are managed in the most efficient way, guaranteeing you a saving of money.

Hunters now have the choice after their incredible safari of using an independent taxidermy and trophy shipping operation run by myself.

We have negotiated with and contracted in three established taxidermists around South Africa:

  1. We trust and work with them to deliver quality work, according to the standards we’re setting for TTS,
  2. We identify and deal with any problems head on and immediately,
  3. We offer an efficient turnaround (9-10 months for taxidermy, 5 months for tanning, (except some mega species) and 4 for Dip Pack),
  4. All the work is negotiated South African Taxidermy prices so you can save a ton on money,

Using this One-Stop TTS service is straight forward.
This is what you can expect from us and how we can go forward when you are using our unique A – Z service.

You’ll need to inform your outfitter you will be using our services, ideally before the safari, but certainly, while on the safari. You do not want to leave the safari without clarifying what happens to your trophies.

  1. We need this confirmation in order to contact your Outfitter and plan the collection of the trophies, or arrange and coordinate their importation, if in a neighboring state like Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, Tanzania or Zambia.
  2. Once we know what trophies were hunted, we’ll prepare a first DRAFT of your mounting instructions, (as we believe them to be), along with costs.
  3. We’ll go back and forth with the paperwork, while you decide and ultimately confirm mounting instructions. Note: This may go well into the time when you are back home – and that’s OK. You need to be 100% comfortable.
  4. Upon collecting the trophies, we confirm immediately, so you know that trophies are being attended to right away.
  5. We take them directly to one of the taxidermists, and if any damages to the skin are picked up this will be brought to your attention. Sometimes, it can only be detected after the tanning process has been completed – but nevertheless, you will know as soon as we do – and solutions /options will be tabled.
  6. If /where clients feel the need, you can speak directly to the taxidermist himself be it about the mounting suggestions or dealing with anything – this is always an option.
  7. We pay the Outfitter his commission and the Taxidermist his deposit to start the work and get going. It is transparent.
  8. Updates: We keep everyone updated, although the first few months there is not much happening. In the mounting stages with finishing touches you will be updated regularly with photos.
  9. When completed, and WE are happy and most importantly, YOU are, we’ll ask for the remainer of the taxidermy fee.
  10. Then we start the crating and export process where we then give options for export;  be it Air, or Ocean. Plus, we will explain, and you be introduced to the importing agents informing you of the process. We are the lowest prices exported out of Africa – Period.
  11. Once you have settled the Export charges, trophies will be on their way, we’ll keep in touch until they have been cleared and collected or delivered, to ensure everything was just as you expected.

OUR TAXIDERMY & TROPHY SOLUTIONS (TTS)
IS A ONE-STOP A-Z SERVICE

We collect from your outfitter after your safari and take the hides immediately to one of the contracted in taxidermists. If you are in a neighboring state, we import from there to South Africa.

From there we stay in contact for the entire process, giving you regular updates, making sure everything is on track, on time, with great quality work. We make sure when your work is completed, it is up to your absolute satisfaction.

Whether it is Dip & Pack, or Tanning of your hides to mount back home, or arranging the entire taxidermy of your trophies here in Africa, we cover the lot.

The work is done with one of our contracted-in taxidermists. Following this, we see to the crating and export process, giving you an ocean or air option and introduce you to the import clearing team we work with, or if you have your preference that’s also fine. And then it is the final delivery after which we check in to make sure the loop is finally closed on your memorable African safari.

It’s our A-Z service, guaranteeing that you save money, having less hassles, knowing that with us as your accountable one point of contact you have peace of mind.
